Spring Is Here!

First, I have to apologize for being a blogging slacker lately. We have been really busy. A couple of weeks ago, when it started warming up outside, we both got a serious case of spring fever. Cory has already started yard work like planting flowers, pruning trees, and power raking the grass. He even detailed both of our cars (he's the greatest!). I on the other hand have been going room to room, cleaning out every closet, drawer, and anything else that could possibly be cleaned out. I have been throwing things away, taking car load after car load to Deseret Industries, and recycling everything else. I have been organizing everything! Next step is to deep clean our house until it smells like spring (to me, spring smells like clorox and flowers).

This picture, out of the Pottery Barn catalog, was my inspiration. I was flipping through and saw all of their organizational and storage items and I caught the bug. I love how this one has a weekly menu, monthly calendar, key holders, a place for invitations and pictures, and a docking station that you can charge your cell phones, iPods, and more.

It seems like every spring my "Domestic Diva" side comes out. I clean more, I bake more, and I cook dinner more than once or twice a week. These are some of the cupcakes I whipped up this weekend. I am still playing with cake batters and frosting designs - nothing to brag about yet.

We couldn't be more happy that spring is here (I refuse to look outside right now, since it is lightly snowing - I am imaging blue skies and birds chirping). Happy Spring!

I get the cleaning bug in the Spring too. I can feel Spring is coming, but it's still pretty cool here. Glad you're having some nice weather you can be outside in. Love the cupcakes!

Happy Spring! Wish the cleaning bug would bite me and get me motivated to clean. We have soooo much stuff to go through....lots of Richard's mom's stuff.

Cute cupcakes!!! :)

I've decided that I just need you to come and organize my house, miss genius! :)

And I need Cory to teach me and my husband about gardening. Seriously, we really want to start growing our own food instead of buying the waxy/nasty stuff from the store. Now I only need my own yard....

Happy Spring indeed! I wish I had a yard to plant flowers in. *sigh* And tomatoes. Yum!

How's the spring cleaning going? Success on every front?

I love that you say that Spring smells like Clorox and flowers, I know exactly what you mean! Keep it up, it's great to be energized when the weather warms. I'm going to try and make the most of my Spring before my belly is too big!
